WHAT IS IT
Imposters is a AAA Play-And-Earn social-gaming Metaverse. Imposters will be player-owned and powered and aim to bridge the gap between Web2 games and Web3 games. The first game mode released will be a social deduction game. This will be the first game launched in order to establish an engaged player base and build out the ecosystem. The social deduction game's goal is to be fun first with a fast and addictive gameplay loop.

The Imposters ecosystem is vast with many different economies/NFTs being the Genesis Imposters, pets, UFOs, and land. Imposters will be a social metaverse with many games and social aspects. Eventually, other players and developers will be able to build on top of the Imposters metaverse.

GAMEPLAY MECHANICS
The social deduction gameplay was defined by Among Us the popular game launched in June of 2015. This genre is home to almost 500m users. It's a murder mystery-themed game where one or more players are the “imposters” and they go around and kill the other players who are called “innocents”. When the game starts no one knows who the imposter is and as the game progresses everyone's goal is to work together to figure out who the culprit is. The Imposter's job is to kill the others and not get caught.

When a body is discovered there is a voting round where players try to pinpoint the killer. Between voting rounds, the innocents have to complete mini-games around the map.

Innocents win by voting out all the imposters or completing all the mini-game tasks on the map before being killed. Imposters win by killing all the innocents before they can complete those tasks or before they are voted as the Imposter.

GENESIS ALIENS
There are many different economies and NFT layers (Genesis aliens, UFOs, pets, land) inside of the Imposters Metaverse. There is a lot of game theory at work to bring about scarcity and utility to every asset in the ecosystem. All of these assets are bound together by the native $BLOOD token which can be spent for various actions in the Metaverse.

Genesis Aliens
The Genesis aliens are the first mint in the Imposters Metaverse. These unique NFTs give holders access to the critical elements of the Metaverse as well as a large advantage in the Play-And-Earn economy. The Genesis Aliens will allow holders to yield the native $BLOOD token through staking after the first 2 weeks. Only by holding and staking your Genesis Alien can you earn $BLOOD for the UFOs, pets, Materials, and Land.

Genesis liens are also eligible for the Genesis Season events which will provide the early opportunity to stake, and earn the different assets of the Metaverse. This will be periodically released over the following 10+ weeks after mint (Mar.29) leading up to the season culmination of the land mint which I will cover below.

UFO’S
UFOs are used for the racing game mode. Each UFO has 5 primary components which are equipable and tradable sub-NFTs they are.
- A blueprint
- A wing set
- Thrusters
- An Engine
- Paint job

UFOs are paired with the Genesis Aliens in order to receive stat boosts depending on different stats. UFOs can be raced by their owners or lent to others. Winners of the races can earn materials or $BLOOD tokens which can further upgrade their ships.

UFO Economics Overview
- Race UFOs by wagering $BLOOD
- Spend MATERIALS to upgrade UFO components (engine, thrusters, wing set, fuel tank, paint job)
- Earn $BLOOD and MATERIALS by winning or reaching the podium in UFO races
- Stake $SUPER into UFOs to increase LUCK and avoid obstacles (asteroids and space debris)
- Spend $BLOOD and MATERIALS to repair damaged UFOs
- Spend extra $BLOOD to wax the surface of your UFO which increases aerodynamics
- Buy, sell, and trade UFOs and their component NFTs on the open market. Assemble the ultimate ship
- Galaxy (metadata trait): each UFO has a native galaxy that contributes to its base stats and cosmetic appearance.
PETS
Pets are dedicated to the PvP battle game mode within the ecosystem. They are also a cosmetic collectible for Genesis Aliens. Pets will compete against each other in order to earn materials and $BLOOD for beating other players. Pets will have core stats based on their galaxy and rarity. Pets can level up over time by spending $BLOOD.

There are also equippable NFTs for your pet
- Weapon: Each pet can hold one weapon that will increase attack power, and can have synergies with the Pet’s DNA based on native galaxy and attack style.
- Shield: Different shields can add defense buffs against different styles of attacks and abilities.
- Aura: An aura boosts specific stats and is represented with cool visual effects
- Ability: Abilities can be either offensive or defensive and contribute to winning battles.
LAND
The land will be the scarcest and most valuable asset class in Imposters metaverse. The Landowners will have the advantage of the production of Materials.
These materials are required for
- Leveling and breeding of Pets
- Upgrading and crafting of UFOs
- Short-term earnings buffs

The plots of land can also be upgraded to increase the production of materials. In order to do this, it takes a large amount of $BLOOD and Materials.

The Imposters Metaverse aims to achieve a balance between the overall large metaverse economy and the core game modes (UFOs and racing, Pets and PvP battles, etc). Players need what the Landowners produce (Materials) while simultaneously the Landowners need what the players are producing ($BLOOD).

Genesis land will be determined by the combination of the Genesis Alie, UFO, and Pet that will be bundled together for the mint of the land. Depending on the combo of these will determine what the plot of land would look like.

In order to maintain long-term success and sustainability, there will eventually be a decentralized tool kit for players to create new modes and maps. This will be a tool kit for the community to create new game styles and worlds within the Imposters Metaverse.

- The “Map Maker” will allow users to customize their own maps and rules within existing modes like social deduction
- The “Game Mode Maker” will provide powerful tools for users and companies to build their own scripting logic. The Impostors Metaverse aims to be continually updated with new, original games to create a diversity of experiences and new ways to earn.

TOKENOMICS
There are 2 tokens in the Imposters Metaverse. These are the governance token $SUPER and the native $BLOOD token.
$SUPER
The $SUPER token will be the governance token that controls the Metaverse economy. Any decisions around governance will be made with snapshot voting of holders of the $SUPER token. There will be a vote proposed to impose a 5% ecosystem tax on all peer-to-peer trades in the NFT ecosystem, These include the gameplay modes UFO racing, Pet battling, and Land. If the proposal is passed these funds will flow into the DAO treasury controlled by the $SUPER holders. The $SUPER holders will then be in control of deciding where the treasury funds are spent.

$BLOOD
$BLOOD is the native utility token in the Imposters Metaverse. It is earned by participating in the various games and is required for various upgrades and utility across the ecosystem. Initially, $BLOOD will be emitted exclusively to the Genesis Alien holders. This will be a fair launch and there will be no initial token sale which tends to create massive sell pressures and can make for unstable tokenomics. Instead, $BLOOD will be distributed through Play-And-Earn mechanics.

ERC721 Gas Optimizations
The Imposters dev team has come up with some unique and industry-advancing methods to help reduce gas costs. Imposters are on the Ethereum network which is notorious for high gas fees. These upgrades are the following

- Updating owner balances all at once in a batch to save the gas otherwise accrued from multiple storage operations
- Maintaining a sparse mapping of token owner balances to make mints as cheap as possible (shoutout to Azuki for first popularizing this)
- Removing on-chain enumeration of items and unnecessary contract information to reduce deployment costs
- Reducing the bytecode of deployment by switching entirely to a system of reverting on Solidity 0.8 errors instead of using any reversion string messages
- We had so much fun optimizing our contract that we even renamed the mint function to
mint_Qgo
. Yes, this actually saves gas.
